I am Melissa Seffens.
I was born and raised in Monroe, Louisiana, moved to many different states for jobs, and currently reside in
Omaha, Nebraska.
Music, Sports, Travel, Volunteerism, and live Entertainment have been the fuel that feeds my soul, whether it was for work or fun. I loved every minute of it and have amazing colleagues and friends along the way. I've been truly fortunate in my life. As of now, I'm not currently working or traveling as I focus on adjusting to hemodialysis and trying to get stronger as I fight the End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) battle caused by Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD).

The wait time for a deceased donor is long. Dialysis acts as a temporary solution until a transplant is received, but dialysis is physically debilitating and emotionally exhausting. According to the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS), There are more than 106,000 people on the national transplant waiting list, with 92,000 (87%) waiting for a kidney.
If I find one person willing to donate one of their kidneys, my wait time will be reduced to a few months. A living donor will allow me to grow old with my family and friends and to continue contributing to my community.
